XjazzX
Someone was recently asking about the sXe bands I’m into, and I didn’t really have that many to name.  I think it’s kind of funny that I’m sXe, but I listen to more jazz than I do hardcore.  I guess it transcends music for me.

the train
Sometimes I take the train.  It isn’t because I’m lazy; I ride my bike over 300 days out of the year.  It’s just that sometimes I enjoy the seeming personal connection found when taking public transportation.  When I’m on my bike, it’s simply point A to point B, as fast as possible.  Walking and taking the train forces me to slow down.  Double so if I’m carrying...

v day
I’ve realized I’ve gotten progressively better at being single. Not a pride point. Sometimes it’s okay to get out from behind my drumset.  It’s okay to get off my bike.  It’s okay to actually talk to people. I guess right now I’m at a point where my priorities have shifted.  It’s a fine line between selfish and self-awareness/discovery.

Puddle Thinking
Imagine a puddle waking up one morning and thinking, “This is an interesting world I find myself in, an interesting hole I find myself in, fits me rather neatly, doesn’t it? In fact it fits me staggeringly well, must have been made to have me in it!”  This is such a powerful idea that as the sun rises in the sky and the air heats up and as, gradually, the puddle gets smaller and smaller, it’s...
